Homebody Exploration Demo

As a semi-old-school survival horror-style game targeting multiple potential input methods, the game unfolds primarily from a third-person fixed-camera perspective we refer to as "navigation mode." Players move Emily through the environment by clicking on the floor (with mouse/pointer input) or with the left analog stick (on a controller) and trigger camera changes by passing into camera triggers, usually on thresholds between rooms or around corners. Double-clicking with the mouse makes Emily run, which acts as a toggle that continues until Emily comes to a stop, requiring the player to double-click again. On a controller, the left face button makes Emily run.

Players interact with objects in the environment either by clicking on them or by pressing the interact button while that interaction is highlighted using the right stick on a controller. Interacts include simple devices like light switches, inspectable puzzle views, readable documents (accessed in a fullscreen page-turning reader view) and NPCs.
